Reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club will certainly be haunted in the near future by Saturday’s draw with Tooro United at Kitende.

Especially in the event that table leaders KCCA FC or any other team run away with the league title come May 2019.  

It  was the first time Vipers were dropping points at home in league much as they kept their unbeaten run intact. 

Apart from Daniel Sserunkuma’s effort which was ruled out for offside in the first half, the visitors opted to frustrate Vipers at every opportunity they got. 

A situation the hosts failed to deal with as the game progressed and ran out of ideas as Tooro United ran off with the point. 

Not even FUFA male player of year Moses Waiswa’s substitution for Duncan Sseninde at half time could break Tooro United’s resolve.

Strikers Tito Okello and Sserunkuma couldn’t make the best of the game with Tooro United’s shot stopper Joel Mutakubwa putting up a man of the match performance.

The result leaves Vipers in second spot on 25 points five points adrift of table leaders KCCA FC who are now on 30 points after they beat BUL in Jinja 2-1.

Similarly, record league champions SC Villa picked up a point away from a goalless draw in Arua against Paidha Black Angles.

Paidha had gone eight straight games without picking a point, the last one being the barren draw against Tooro United on October 23rd, 2018. 

Douglas Bamweyana’s side was expected to ride on the confidence they got with the Express victory but it didn’t seem to work out. 

The point leaves Villa 12th on the log a point behind Tooro who are 11th on 13 points.
