Defender Ayub Kizza has completed his move to Rwanda Premier League side Sunrise FC on a two years contract, the club confirmed via their Twitter handle on Monday.
“Ugandan born and former KCCA FC central defender Ayub Kizza signed a two year contract with the club,” read the tweet.
Kiiza has been a free agent since partying ways with Tooro United at the end of the 2018/2019 season, a side he joined in 2016 from Express FC.
It’s further believed that the move was much influenced by Sunrise head coach Moses Basena who was badly in need of an experienced defender to lead and marshal up the defence that looked clumsy in the first round of the league conceding 22 goals from 15 games.
Kiiza who was born in October 1992 comes in with a wealth of experience having begun his career with Naguru FC before joining Victors FC (no longer in existence), KCCA FC, Express FC and Soana FC (The current Tooro United)
At Sunrise FC, he joins fellow Ugandans in on form forward Pius Wangi and workaholic midfield dynamo Sulaiman Majanjaro.
Sunrise finished the first round of the Rwanda Premier League in ninth place on 19 points from 15 games.
