Vipers Sports Club midfielder Tom Masiko has completed his move to newly-promoted side Wakiso Giants on a season-long loan move.
Masiko joined the Kitende side on a three-year deal in 2017 and went on to guide the team to league triumph in his maiden season playing an integral role under Portuguese Miguel Da Costa.
In his second season though, the former KCCA FC player seemed to have fallen down in the pecking order with Javier Martinez Espinoza first shunning him before Michael Nam Ouma further alienated him from the first team.
With Edward Golola taking over, it spelt harder times for Masiko as the former is understood not to be a fan of the midfielder.
Despite Taddeo Lwanga and Moses Waiswa leaving the club ahead of the new season, Masiko was still expected not to be part of Golola’s grand plan at the club.
The final nail in the coffin for him came after he was left out of the club’s final squad for the season.
The five-time Uganda Premier league winner has been linked with a loan move to Police, but Wakiso Giants provided a better prospect for him given that Wakiso’s Director previously served as his representative.
With just a year still left on his contract at Vipers, Masiko’s loan move could be made permanent at Wakiso as he joins the club on a free transfer.
