FUFA Big League side Kigezi Home Boys have appointed Mark Twinamatsiko as the new head coach for the club on a three-year contract.
Twinamatsiko recently guided Kitara FC to the Uganda Premier League and will be expected to wield his magic again at Kigezi.
Twinamatsiko decided to walk out of Kitara shortly after sealing promotion, with the club revealing that they will not be renewing his contract.
At Kigezi, Twinamatsiko will succeed Vialli Bainomugisha who has since taken over coaching reigns at UPL side Onduparaka.
Kigezi who competed in the Rwenzori group last season, missed the promotion play-offs by just three points as the season was cancelled following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Twinamatsiko’s Kitara and Ndejje University who made the play-offs finished the regular season level on 22 points.
The club also launched a new five year strategic plan which majorly points towards ensuring the club reach the top tier of Ugandan football.
Pre-season plans are already underway, with players told to convene at the club’s base where they shall meet the new coach before they get underway with pre-season on Monday, November 2.
In a similar development, star striker Brian Muluuli who scored the all-important goal that secured Kitaras promotion will be joining Twinamatsiko at Kigezi.
Muluuli who topped scoring charts last season in the Big-League regular season is also out of contract and is reluctant to extend his stay at Kitara especially with Twinamatsiko leaving.
The striker will be joining the Kigezi on a two-year contract and is expected to link up with the rest of the squad when they start pre-season training.
