Jackson Mayanja’s reign as the Uganda Hippos head coach began with a 2-0 victory over Tanzania in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers for the CECAFA Zone.

The former Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder was named as Morley Byekwaso’s successor on an interim basis.

In the game played at Al Hilal Stadium in Sudan on Saturday, the Hippos scored their goals in the first half courtesy of Titus Ssematimba and Rogers Mugisha.
