Coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho has vowed to leave everything on the pitch when his Vipers’ side takes on TP Mazembe in the second round of the CAF Champions League, on Sunday.
The Venoms will have to negotiate their way past the five time champions in the first leg at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, and the Brazilian is in fighting mood.
“Our objective is clear, we want to qualify to the next round even though we are playing a difficult team,” the tactician said to Vipers media.
“We trust our capacity and we have one strong team. I respect TP Mazembe but, they will need to respect Vipers too.”
“We want to win and we’re going to give it our life because the objective is to reach reach the Group stages,” he added.
The Kitende outfit will be hoping to get past this final hurdle to make their first ever Group stages in this competition.
And, they don’t come bigger than against one of the most successful teams on the continent, but, Robertinho feels his team will compete.
“We have built this team for the champions league. It’s my club, we’re all together, it’s one big family.”
“My objective tomorrow is to play well, have good ball possession and win so that we qualify,” added the Brazilian.
Robertinho has an injury-free squad as every member of the team is available for selection.
As the winner of the two-legged affair will be cruising to the Groups, the other team will get into the CAF Confederation Cup.
