UCU ready to revive season against KU

Uganda Christian University (UCU)’s daunting test in the Pepsi University Football League will be two time champions Kampala University (KU) on Tuesday in Mukono.

KU eliminated the Mukono based university at the quarterfinal stage of last year’s competition on away goals rule something the hosts find as motivation going into the tie.

“Yes we have to bounce back with a win, it looks tight right now in our group,” UCU head coach Jimmy Mwera told www.football256.com before adding.

“I respect my opponents, they have a good history in this tournament and their coach has experience but I come to win,” he added.

Both UCU and Kampala University managed barren draws with Mubs and International University of East Africa (IUEA) in their first group matches, a quest for that first win will be paramount.

“We are prepared tactically and mentally, UCU is a team which plays possessive football like we do so it will be a tactical game,” KU head coach Vincent Tumusiime said.

Makerere University Business Schools (Mubs) top group D with four points, having managed a 2-1 away win IUEA at Kansanga last week and a barren stalemate with UCU in their opening game.
