UFL: Katwe ready for face-off with mentor Ssebuliba

YMCA Comprehensive head Allan Katwe considers Nkumba University’s Patrick Ssebuliba his mentor but when the two sides meet in the Pepsi University Football League on Thursday in Nkumba none of that will matter.

Nkumba had to go through the preliminary knockout round as they dismissed Kabale 4-2 on aggregate to make the group stages.

“Playing preliminaries wasn’t good for my side but on the other hand it has put us in shape for the season,” Ssebuliba told www.fotoball-256.com before adding. “Am confident of a win against YMCA especially since we shall be at home.”

Katwe who played under Ssebuliba in his playing days at the University between 2014 and 2016 admits it will be an emotional return to the place that made him.

“Nkumba made me and it’s going to be exciting to face my mentor Mr. Ssebuliba, I learnt a lot from his mentorship “Katwe said.

“It will be an interesting experience to be back here but on the pitch that will not be on my mind. I will be the YMCA coach and we shall be going out for a win,” Katwe added.

The two sides seem advantaged having been pooled alongside Bugema University who are on a four points deficit after fans misconduct in last season’s semi-final. Bugema will play Bishop Stuart on Friday.
