The Uganda Cubs U17 finalized with their intensive residential training at Njeru technical center ahead of the UEFA ASSIST International Tournament in Antalya Turkey from March 1st – 10th.
During the ten-day residential training, the Cubs played two friendly matches to help the coaches assess players’ fitness levels. They won 3-1 and 2-1 against Jinja SS school team and Football for Good respectively.
The Jackson Magera coached side will travel to the European nation on Friday morning for the tournament that is meant to fine tune them for the 2019 Total U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania next month.
Uganda is pooled in Group two alongside Cameroon, Morocco and Belarus, their opening game will be against Cameroon on March 2nd 2019.
At the April 14th – 28th, 2019 tournament, Uganda is in Group alongside hosts Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola.
The top two team in each group will qualify for the November 2nd – 24th, 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
