UMU visit St Lawrence in Mugerwa’s UFL debut

Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi moved on from Shafik Bisaso who led them to the 2017 Pepsi University Football League and will have Noah Mugerwa in the dugout when the start their 2019 campaign.

Mugerwa’s debut in UMU’s tactician will come on Wednesday when the side visits St Lawrence University in Kavulu at 3pm in this Group B opener.

“I have been following the league closely, it’s a very competitive tournament and a new challenge for me, Mugerwa said on Tuesday, he added.

“I have to prove the critics wrong, but I also trust my boys will do the job. St Lawrence is a good side but my team is ready for them.”

The two sides are meeting for the first time in UFL history and there high chances no one will want to give in to the other in this maiden faceoff.

While UMU are former champions, the furthest St Lawrence have gone in the competition is third place, they defeated Bugema University 5:0 to achieve the feat.

Mugerwa joins UMU with a lot of experience gained mainly from coaching in the Masaza football competition with Busunjju. The two universities are contesting for honors along Gulu University and debutants
