Soltilo Bright Stars will play hosts to strugglers Onduparaka FC with their sights fully focused on picking their first victory of the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season.
The Tuesday Kavumba Recreation Grounds bout will also provide the perfect platform for the Mwererwe outfit to bounce back from two previous losses against SC Villa (1-0) and Gaddafi FC (3-0).
“We have prepared well based on what happened in our previous match (against Gaddafi),” stated Bright Stars’ deputy head coach Tom Ssali to the club media.
“We have worked out on several things including the mental bit which has been a major problem to us. We want the players to forget about that loss and focus on winning tomorrow’s game.”
“I can assure you the boys are in shape, and fully ready to give us positive results tomorrow,” added Ssali.
Bright Stars is placed 12th on the 15-team log with just five points, and Ssali is optimistic his team can overcome any possible challenges posed by the bottom side, Onduparaka who have one point.
“Depending on what we have done for preparation and it being a home match, let everyone expect a good game. We need results tomorrow,” he reiterated.
“Everyone feels tomorrow’s game is one they should play, they’re in the right mood, highly motivated to see that they can get us the results we need.”
Last season, the two sides won one game apiece, with the Caterpillars winning at tomorrow’s venue 1-0. The Soltilo then returned with a 3-1 victory away at the Greenlight Stadium.
