BUL FC have been top of the 15-team StarTimes Uganda Premier League log right from the start of the 2022/2023 season, but head coach Alex Isabirye has called it a learning process.
After match day five, the oil manufacturers are unbeaten as they have three victories and two draws, amounting to 11 points at the summit.
“We are not under any kind of pressure being on top of the table,” Isabirye said after his side’s 1-1 draw with Gaddafi Modern FC at Kakindu on Tuesday.
“It is the position we are occupying because of the results we have been able to get so far.”
“Yes, it is an experience we have not experienced before but we are learning how to manage it,” he added.
Having won two straight games at the start of the season against newly promoted Blacks Power FC and UPDF FC 5-0 and 3-1 respectively, BUL drew 1-1 with URA FC.
They returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over SC Villa before their latest one-all stalemate against Gaddafi.
“The game between Gaddafi and BUL is sort of a derby and I knew it was not going to be easy.”
“The best thing is that we have not lost this game we shall take a point and build on it in our next fixture,” Isabirye noted.
Ibrahim Kazindula netted for the visitors from a penalty kick in the 13th minute before Bakali Magumba equalized for the hosts in the 61st minute before BUL’s Walter Ochora was sent off in the 69th minute.
The Jinja-based outfit will return to action on Wednesday, November 2 with a home game against Onduparaka FC.
