BUL’s perfect start to the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season was brought to an end courtesy of a 1-1 draw with URA at Nakisunga on Friday.
Midfielder Jeromy Kirya broke the deadlock in the second minute to put the visitors in an early lead.
Forward Ibrahim Dada had a chance to bring the game level from 12 yards in the 79th minute but fired his penalty wide.
Despite holding on to their narrow lead for almost the entire game, the Uganda Cup champions’ resistance was broken at the death mark in the 90th minute thanks to George Ssenkaaba’s late equalizer.
Alex Isabirye’s charges who have now won twice and drawn once remain top of the 15-team log with seven points. URA are still searching for their maiden win of the season after three games.
The tax collectors have now drawn twice to BUL and Onduparaka and lost the other game to Express.
After three games, the Sam Timbe coached team is positioned 10th with only two points to their name.
