KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has warned his players against underestimating Busoga United FC when the two sides meet in the Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday.

While KCCA is positioned top of the 15-team UPL log with 26 points from 12 games, Busoga is placed second from the bottom with six points after the same number of games.

“We do not compare the table standings to the present form because Busoga has improved a lot recently,” Byekwaso said in the pre-match press conference at Lugogo on Thursday before adding.

“They recently won a game when they visited one of the best teams in the league this season, Wakiso Giants, and every game has its own problems to solve.”

“We do not have to underestimate them because I know they will try to make the game difficult for us.”

“So we have to be aware of that as a team and put up a strong performance by possessing so well and being effective, especially with scoring goals.”

“They are trying so hard tooth and nail to gather results that can help them to stay in the league so such teams can surprise you meaning we have to be extremely careful with Busoga.”

Ahead of Friday’s game, KCCA drew 1-1 with BUL FC in Jinja while Busoga were edged 1-0 by Arua Hill SC in a game that was also played in Jinja.

The 13-time UPL champions are yet to lose a game at home this season. After six games played at Lugogo, they have won five against Wakiso, Vipers, Blacks Power, Gadaffi, and Express while they drew once with URA.

Whereas, the two wins Busoga have this season have been away from home against Onduparaka and Wakiso.

Byekwaso’s charges have been victorious in all the last six games that they have played against the Eastern side.

KCCA midfielder Ashraf Mugume will require a late fitness test having limped off against BUL whereas Geoffrey Wasswa will be absent due to suspension having accumulated three yellow cards.

In the other two games to be played on the same day, Maroons will host Express in Luzira while Onduparaka will visit Blacks Power in Lira.
