KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso will maintain the team that edged Vipers SC 1-0 on Saturday when his side visits Luzira to take on Maroons FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Friday.

Byekwaso noted that playing a winning team game in and game out will remain a long-term strategy and tinkering will only come into context should the players suffer injuries or be suspended.

“Once a team performs well there is no need to change it,” Byekwaso said during his pre-match press conference at Lugogo on Thursday.

“There won’t be changes in a winning team unless there are players who are injured or on suspension.”

“We need to respect and treat games differently because we are playing against different opponents.”

“Victory over Vipers was huge and important but that doesn’t mean we should get comfortable.”

Byekwaso added: “Maroons is a stubborn team but if we play with the top-notch character as we did against Viper we shall win the game.”

The Kasasiro Boys have almost every player available for selection apart from Muhammad Shaban who has not trained the whole of this week.

Maroons come into Friday’s encounter with a 3-1 defeat to Arua Hill SC while KCCA edged Vipers SC 1-0 the last time out.

A point separates the two teams on the 15-team SUPL log with the former placed seventh with five points after four games compared to the latter’s six points from three outings in the sixth position.

The last time Maroons and KCCA met was in February 2020 and the Kasasiro Boys edged the Prison Warders 2-1 at Lugogo.

Muhammad Ssenfuma’s coached team have neither won nor scored a goal since their 5-0 victory over fellow newbies Blacks Power FC on the opening day of the season.

Fred Amaku will be one of the players Ssenfuma will rely on if the hosts are to manage anything positive against the visitors.

Whereas Morley Byekwaso has a pool of players; Allan Okello, Moses Waiswa, Ashraf Mugume, and Rogers Mato amongst others to count on.
