Mbarara City FC returns into action on Saturday 7th September 2019 with another away tie against Police FC at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole and not Kabaka Kyabagu as initially communicated with high hopes of getting back to winning ways.
Following their 3-1 loss to SC Villa on Wednesday at the same venue, the Ankole Lions hope to roar again against a wounded Police FC side that is yet to register a point from two games.
However, if Mbarara are to achieve this, they will have to do it without prodigal son Paul Mucuurezi who travelled with the Uganda Cranes team to Nairobi on Friday morning ahead of an international friendly match against the Kenya Harambee Stars on Sunday 8th.
In the absence of Mucuurezi, promising youngster Ivan Eyamu and new boy Gadaffi Gadinho will be tasked to take over the creative role as they feed Brian Aheebwa and Jude Semugabi who will lead the hunt for goals.
On the other hand, Police FC will miss the services of head coach Abdullah Mubiru who also travelled with Uganda Cranes as head coach which means his assistant Luyinda Ayala will be in charge of the helm.
Right back Denis Rukundo is expected to make his league debut for the Cops after missing out on their previous match in which they lost 0-2 at home to Bul FC and so is youngster Matovu Musa who impressed in the Police game in Kenya.
Johnson Odong, Ruben Kimera and Herman Wasswa who started on bench against BUL might start as Police FC hope to pick up something from the match.
