After Express FC lost a fourth consecutive Uganda Premier League game 3-0 to rivals KCCA FC at Lugogo on Friday, head coach James Odoch noted that his players have lost confidence.
Odoch further stated that his main focus now and that of the entire technical team is to find means of restoring confidence amongst the players.
“I think the players have lost confidence losing four games is not something easy to deal with,” Odoch told the media after the game before adding.
“Together with my technical team now have a much bigger task beyond giving football tactics we now have to keep around these players and encourage them that things will change.”
“We have not lost these games because we are a bad team no, we are having a good display on the pitch even against big teams like KCCA but there are small details that we are lacking.”
“After having much of the ball you have to be creative in the final third and try to score goals and that has generally been our limitation,” he added.
Moses Waiswa scored from a penalty in the second minute of the game before substitutes Tshisungu Kankonde and Charles Lwanga scored in the 73rd and 85th minute respectively.
Bright Stars, Wakiso Giants, and Arua Hill are the other three teams that defeated the Red Eagles in their four-game winless streak.
It is yet again another tough encounter coming up for the Wankulukuku-based outfit as they host defending champions Vipers SC on Tuesday, December 13th 2022.
“Trying to win our next game is another way we can regain confidence, yes I know that we are going to play Vipers and it will not be an easy game but shall give it our all,” Odoch said.
After thier loss to KCCA FC, The ‘Mukwano Gwabangi’ find themselves placed ninth on the 15-team UPL log with 14 points after 11 games.
On the other hand, their rivals KCCA are positioned first with 25 points after the same number of games and will visit BUL FC on Tuesday.
