The StarTimes Uganda Premier League is in its final bend and for some clubs like Express FC it’s win or burst.
The six-time league champions who are coming off a 3-1 loss to champions elect KCCA FC are targeting a top eight finish and the run in begins on Wednesday at home to Kirinya Jinja SS.
The Wankulukuku based side are however nursing many injuries with main actors like centre back and captain Isaac Mutanga, strikers Odur Tony and Eric Kambaale all ruled out of the clash.
The on-loan midfielder from Vipers SC Frank Zaga Tumwesigye is also AWOL leaving the team with one recognized striker in Brian Umony. Express coach George Ssimwogerere believes the team is still ready for the game.
“We are very ready despite having some injuries in the camp which we got against KCCA but we have tried to do some replacements and I think we are going to have a very good game,” Ssimwogerere told www.football-256.com.
“And we are going to win the game. The camp is ok and everyone has the morale to see that we win the game,” he added.
Kirinya Jinja SS are hoping to consolidate a top eight finish too, the Jinja based side have managed three wins from their last five games and have been scoring too.
Boosted by their last league win against Paidha, Joel Madondo will be trusted with carrying the burdens of the team in front of goal.
Bar the Bul – Bright Stars result, 11th placed Express will hope a win sends them to 10th spot on the 16 team log as they target to win the remaining league fixtures.
