BUL FC head coach Alex Isabirye is focused on helping his side improve their away performance in the second round of the Uganda Premier League.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup champions resumed training on Wednesday following a short festive season break as they prepare for the second round of the Uganda Premier League due to commence in a month.

“I was generally impressed by the performance of my team in the first round,” Isabirye started while speaking to Football256 in an interview.

“My players are now competitive but I believe that there is still plenty of time for us to continue improving in several aspects.”

“The biggest concern in the first round was the failure to win enough games away from home because if we had done so, we would have finished top of the table.”

“So that is going to be our main area of focus in the second round, we must start picking points on the road and that is going to determine if we are going to finish in the top positions,” he noted.

The oil manufacturers finished the first round in the second position on the 15-team UPL log with 27 points only two points adrift of leaders KCCA FC who are on 29 points after both sides have played 14 games.

During the first round, BUL lost three games all of which they were beaten as visitors while they won and drew twice apiece on the road from seven games.

Their home performance was remarkable as they won six of the seven games played while another was a draw.

The Eastern giants will kick off their second round with a home game against newbies Blacks Power FC on February 10th, a side they thrashed 5-0 at the start of the season in Lira.
