BUL FC kicked off their 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season with a 5-0 victory over newly promoted side Blacks Power FC in Lira on Saturday.
After the game, the former’s head coach Alex Isabirye stated that he did not anticipate a hard task on the road.
“This is the first time that Blacks Power is playing in the UPL and they did a lot of mistakes that resulted in our goals,” Isabirye said after the game.
“I think they are still getting to know the league but we also had some mistakes despite being the best-prepared team of the two.”
“It is good that we have had a positive start to the season but I do not want us to get carried away.”
“Our next game is against a much better team that has been in the league (UPDF) so should forget this result and get ready for the upcoming match,” Isabirye said.
Karim Ndugwa and Richard Wandyaka bagged a brace a piece while the other goal was scored by Jerome Kirya.
The oil manufacturers, who are on three points are now joint top of the 15-team UPL log with Maroons FC who also thrashed Busoga United FC 5-0 on the same day.
BUL will host URA at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Saturday, October 8.
