Congolese forward Tshisungu Kankonde missed a penalty in KCCA FC’s 1-0 loss to Maroons FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Luzira Prisons Grounds on Friday.
KCCA were awarded a penalty at the half-hour mark when Maroons’ Patrick Bayiga handled the ball in his box.
Kankonde stepped up but was denied by the woodwork and goalless it finished at halftime.
The Kasasiro Boys would later pay the price past the hour mark when Fred Amaku scored for the hosts in the 65th minute.
It was Amaku’s third goal of the season having bagged a brace in the Prison Warders’ 5-0 thrashing of Busoga United FC at the start of the season.
Muhammad Ssenfuka’s charges registered their second win of the season while on the other hand, they handed Morley Byekwaso’s coached team their second loss of the season.
The victory ensured that Maroons climbed to the third position with eight points while KCCA dropped to eighth with six points.
KCCA will return home against Blacks Power FC at Lugogo on November 05, whereas Maroons will be away to Vipers SC on November 4th.
Express FC and SC Villa edged Onduparaka FC and Busoga United 2-1 and 1-0 respectively while Black Power and Arua Hill SC drew 0-0 in the other games played on the day.
