At the time Livingstone Mbabazi left Onduparaka in 2017, he had built a cult status because of what he had been able to do with the side.
Mbabazi had won over hearts of many with his style and ability to turn Onduparaka into a giant killer until things started going south.
Onduparaka hadn’t prepared for things like deep in form, and they didn’t know how to handle themselves in such situations, Mbabazi had to be kicked out.
After stints at Kyetume FC and failing to help them gain promotion to the top tier in 2018 at the expense of Paidha Black Angels, he was signed by Mbarara City at the start of the 2018/2019 season.
The Ankole Lions were battling relegation while Mbabazi was trying to gain top flight status with Kyetume, he turned the latter into title contenders until they ran out of steam.
He rendered in his resignation last month because of unprofessionalism, but now heading back to the territory that believed in him and regretted when he left because all those that came after him didn’t live up to the billing.
“Back like He never left!” Onduparaka posted on their official twitter handle before adding.
“We are delighted to announce the return of tactician Charles Livingstone Mbabazi who has rejoined us on a 3 Year deal!!”
The big question is whether he will be able to turn their fortunes around, with the exodus of players continuing to rise but also the working conditions are totally not as they were at the time when everything he touched turned into gold.
