In a bid to strengthen their team ahead of the 2019/2020 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, Mbarara City FC signed Gaddafi Gadinho from Onduparaka FC on a two years deal.
Gadinho is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the Uganda Premier League with a remarkable spell at the West Nile based club in the previous season.
“Mbarara City Football Club have signed Gadafi Gadihno for two years,” the club’s supposed to be Chief Executive Officer Sadam Mugarura said.
Gaddafi will reunite with his former teammate Rashid Mohamed who already took course at Mbarara City FC from Onduparaka FC last season.
The Ankole Lions who have also signed Bashir Muweesi on a three-year deal from Katwe United are also reportedly in advanced talks with the Caterpillars to land another versatile midfielder Viane Ssekajjugo.
Mbarara City finished fifth with 46 points on the 16-team StarTimes Uganda Premier league log last season which was their best season in the top flight since their promotion two seasons ago.
Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s coming to the Mbarara based club saw them rejuvenated after a narrow relegation survival in the 2017/2018 season.
Mbabazi who is reportedly on his way out of the club signed a number of players in Paul Mucureezi, Pistis Barenge, Ivan Eyam, Jude Ssemugabi, Ivan Mbowa and defender Ronnie Kisekka who entirely changed the team’s performance.
