KCCA won the Star times Uganda Premier League for the 13th time after their one all draw with Ndejje Lions with two games to spare on Tuesday at the Arena of Visions.
KCCA FC manager was quick to credit a section of players who graduated from the development side of the league.
“We’ve won the trophy largely with developed players because the team has been rotating around them and I’m happy they’ve began their careers as winners,” Mutebi said before adding.
“They have started their serious careers as winners, so they won’t be subjected to this pressure of you have to win later on, it’s now a responsibility for them.”
Mutebi was referring to the likes of Allan Okello, Peter Magambo, Mustafa Kizza who all played an integral part in the team’s triumph this season.
Injured Julius Poloto, Lawrence Bukenya, Filbert Obenchan are the others who have been mainstays in Mike Mutebi’s team this season.
It was also Mutebi’s third league title in four season and he is already taking the club back where he thinks they belong.
“We are largely targeting dominating football in Uganda, and we want to work more next season defend the league, win the Uganda Cup and get back in the group stages of the Champions League,” a jovial Mutebi said.
