BUL FC forward Karim Ndugwa has set his focus on winning the 2022/23 StarTimes Uganda Premier League golden boot.
Having started the campaign on a high, bagging a brace in BUL’s 5-0 thrashing of Blacks Power, the towering forward believes this could be his year.
“I believe this year is the right time to take the golden boot,” Ndugwa told Football256 in an interview before adding; “Only injuries can stop me but am raring to go for it.”
“Last season I had a low scoring rate in the league compared to Stanbic Uganda Cup because the momentum was low and I had taken a long time without active football,” he added.
Ndugwa managed only three goals in the UPL whilst scoring nine in Uganda Cup where he emerged top scorer.
“It’s every forward’s dream to start on a high. This helps you to gain the right confidence ahead of the upcoming games.”
“But when you start without finding the back of the net it gets hard because you tend to panic and take scrambling decisions simply to get a goal.”
According to Ndugwa they have a great well-motivated team under the best manager. It’s up to the players to do the right things and the trophy will be in their hands.
For their second league game, BUL will host UPDF FC at their new home FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Saturday, October 8.
