The Caterpillars have one more battle with the Jogoo this season as Onduparaka and SC Villa face off in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) on Tuesday, May 11, at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Arua.
This will be the fourth meeting between Villa and Onduparaka this season in all competitions. The two sides have already played each other three times. Twice in the Uganda Cup and one in the UPL.
The Caterpillars are yet to defeat the Jogoo this season, as Villa have managed two wins and a draw. The draw came in the Uganda Cup second leg as Villa progressed 1-0 on aggregate following a 1-0 victory in Arua.
In their last league meeting, midfielder Nicholas Kabonge came off the bench to win the game for Villa deep into added time in Bombo
Onduparaka’s last win in the UPL came on April 13, where they beat Kitara 2-1 at home. Onduparaka has lost their previous five games in the UPL, including a shocking defeat to Wakiso Giants and strugglers MYDA.
Onduparaka now seeks redemption against a rebranded SC Villa who has also not won a game in their previous five games, drawing three and losing two in that period.
After 22 games, Villa is in 7th position with 32 points, 18 of the top, eight above Onduparaka.
Onduparaka’s consistent poor run of results has got them sitting only four points above Kyetume FC who occupy the final relegation place.
Ronald Ssekiganda is set to make is first start for the club after starting from the bench against Bright Stars as he marked his return from injury.
Sadam Masereka returns from injury for SC Villa and is available for selection. Goffin Oyirwoth continues to be out with an ankle injury.
Andrew Kiwanuka remains sidelines while Benson Muhindo returned to light training but will not be in contention for selection.
