The Pilsner player and coach of the month for March will be crowned on Monday evening at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.
For the straight month, KCCA FC midfielder Nicholas Kasozi will vie for the top price with URA striker Cromwell Rothomio and Kirinya Jinja SSS midfielder David Bagoole.
Last month’s coach of the year Wasswa Bossa of Tooro United is also in the running for the month of March, he is nominated alongside KCCA FC’s Mike Mutebi and URA’s Sam Ssimbwa.
After scooping three consecutive Pilsner Man of the Match accolades against Tooro United, Kirinya Jinja SSS and Vipers, Nicholas is a front runner for top award after he was beaten to the February plaque by Onduparaka’s Rashid Toha.
Kasozi who joined the Kasasiro boys in August last year from bitter rivals SC Villa had a mystifying start, he struggled until the second round of the season to break into Mike Mutebi’s squad.
But since his breakthrough, the midfield maestro has been with a bizarre form, scooping three Pilsner Man of the Match in KCCA’s last three league games.
Rwothomio has scored two goals in March for URA, against his former team Paidha in Zombo and BUL FC in Namboole while Bagoole has been instrumental in the Jinja-based club’s victories against Nyamityobora and Villa.
Among the nominated coaches only Ssimbwa is yet to win the award, Mutebi won for December while Bossa did win for February.
Mutebi guided KCCA to two league wins in the month of March, they won 4-2 against SC Villa and 2-0 against Kirinya Jinja SSS, and they also made a one-all stalemate against Tooro United in the process.
Ssimbwa also managed two wins and one draw out of the three league games URA played in March while Wasswa Bbosa also won twice and drawn of the three games played in March.
