After confirming the signatures of Allan Kayiwa and Paul Willa from Tooro United and Police FC respectively, Vipers SC have added Siraje Ssentamu on their own transfer cart.

The midfielder has made his return to the Venoms after leaving for rivals Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) two years ago.

Ssentamu has signed a two-year deal with Vipers, as the club is continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

“It feels good to be back home. I have come to work, win and further my career,” Ssentamu told www.vipers.co.ug after being unveiled.

Ssentamu had left Vipers at the start of the 2017-18 season following the expiry of his contract and Vipers were not ready to renew it which forced him to join the tax collectors.

The midfield dynamo produced superb performances throughout last season which helped URA FC to a top-five finish on the 16-team Uganda Premier League log.

He also challenged his former club by showcasing man of the match performances in both the league encounters between Vipers and URA FC last season.

By the time he left Vipers, he had won three titles; including the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup and the FUFA Super Cup in the four years he spent with the Venoms between 2013-2017.

Ssentamu will battle for a starting place in Vipers’ midfield with the likes of Taddeo Lwanga, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Moses Waiswa.

Vipers are targeting Uganda Premier League success in the 2019/2020 season after their failure to defend it last season, finishing second behind eventual champions KCCA.
