The woes at Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa seem to be getting bitter each day that passes.
Just at the time you would think they would be working around the clock to ensure the misery that happened last season doesn’t happen this season by first of all keeping their best players and making new signings.
But surprisingly, at the moment it’s the opposite that is happening at the historical club with the latest player to leave being talented winger Joseph Ssemujju.
“Blessed to have been part of this wonderful club with great history,” Ssemujju posted on his facebook page.
“As of 19-06-2019 I can confirm I won’t renew my contract with SC Villa and thanks for everything most especially the fans, players, coaches and the entire Villa family. Wish the club all the best,” he added before revealing to www.football-256.com.
“Football is my business that takes care of me and my family so sometimes however much you want to stay at a club but what you agreed upon isn’t fulfilled. It becomes hard to stay but I hope one day I will return when all is well at the club to finish what I have not finished.”
Ssemujju who has previously featured for Vipers SC, Proline FC and Express FC becomes the second player to leave Villa for similar reasons after Pius Wangi did the same.
His next destination however remains unknown despite a number of interests from a vast of local clubs.
