UPL: The ‘better’ team lost – Kawalya.

By Football256 Team

Tooro United goalkeeping coach Sam Kawalya feels that his side were the better side despite failing to pick up victory against Vipers at the St. Mary’s stadium.

Fahad Bayo’s strike on the 78th minute is what separated the two sides after 90 minutes, and Kawalya feels that they should have done better by the time they conceded.

Tooro United created a number of goal scoring chances but were either undone by the fantastic Mutombora in goal or poor finishing.

Striker Steven Omvia was twice denied by Mutombora’s brilliant save and the cross bar early on in the second half. As the visitors put on the better performance for long spells of the game.

“We had a very good performance but we lost the game,” Kawalya said in the post-match press conference.

“We were entirely better than Vipers in all departments but the boys failed to utilise the chances created,” he added.

Kawalya also felt that referee Brian Nsubuga had a bad day in office as he awarded decision that hurt them in the end.

First, he allowed Farouk Musisi stay on after booking him twice. It was not until fourth assistant Ali Sabira reminded him that he showed the left back was shown red.

Moments later, Nsubuga again awarded a ‘soft’ free kick which caused huge dissent from head coach Wasswa Bbosa with the latter sent off. The resultant free kick proved decisive as Vipers scored.

“I think we were also undone by poor officiation on the day, Bbosa was sent off for no reason and the free kick that resulted into the goal came from nowhere because it wasn’t a foul,” Kawalya stressed.
