Having had an excellent November where they won six of the seven matches played, Vipers SC have struggled to fully replicate the same in December.

The Venoms have won twice of the four games played thus far, losing and drawing one apiece.

And, captain Milton Karisa has stressed they failed to do the fine details right, but also noted it’s upon the team to work on improvement.

“I think if it was one easy fix you’d know and you’d fix it. Obviously, to be a successful football team, there are so many little things you need to do well,” he said to the club media.

“And, at this moment in time, we’re not doing enough of those consistently enough. We have shown very good performances this year, but we haven’t had that consistency this month and that’s something we need to improve.”

Now second with 27 points, just two adrift of leaders KCCA FC, the Venoms will take on Busoga United on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru with hope of completing the first round positively.

“I think the next game is always the one we focus on and one where you can start a good run and get that consistency and confidence back,” noted Karisa.

“I think the performances we have had, some very good performances this year as well, [so] we know it’s not too far off, but it’s important we keep delivering every game.”

“It has been an intense start to the season, it has been quite hard to get the rhythm with a few players being out and not getting a settled line-up.”

“That is something we have to deal with – and deal with better. The beauty of having so many games in such a short space of time, it is a great chance for us to go out there and start putting it right,” concluded the Uganda Cranes forward.

In the past 11 meetings with Busoga since 2016, Vipers have had eight victories, lost just once as two games ended in stalemates.

Tomorrow’s guests will hope they can extend that dominion against a struggling side to who are also desperate for points. Busoga lie second from bottom with just six points in 13 matches.
