UPL: Wakiso Giants resurgence on test against Tooro United

By Football256 Team

Wakiso United versus Tooro United at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium will headline match day three of the 2019/2020 Star Times Uganda Premier League.

Wakiso Giants enters this game in search of their second win in league this season after picked up a morale boosting 3-1 win, over URA FC on Tuesday; Their first ever top flight win, after falling 1-0 to Champions KCCA in their opening fixture.

And head coach Kefa Kisala acknowledges that morale is sky high among his players after their maiden victory and that they are raring to go against Tooro as they look to make more history.

“The players are ready for the game. And with the mood in camp after our maiden victory against URA, I know they cannot wait to go again,” Kisaala said ahead of the game.

“Definitely, we shall use the win in our last match as a spring board to go for another in this one. But we cannot dwell on it for so long because history has no room in football,” He added.

On the other hand, Tooro United will be hoping they can bounce back from their 1-0 loss over Vipers SC last time out.

Tooro got their season off quite well, winning 2-1 against Busoga United. And they should have picked up at least a point against Vipers, but were undone by a loss in concentration at a critical time as Vipers grabbed a late winner.

Tooro United head coach Eric Ndifuna, sounded confident of his side’s chances to pick up maximum points over their hosts.

“Wakiso are a good team. They are a new team in the league and that may work to our advantage as we possess more experience than them in this regard. Therefore we know what we have to do if we are to get over them,” Ndifuna said.

Tooro are not the best of travelers and that is something they will need to check as they face a side who still have a 100% home record in the league.

In their past 20 away games, Tooro have won just five games. Two of those have come against sides who have already been relegated. The positive however, is that three of their past five games on the road have ended in victory for them.

The purple sharks head into the game without skipper Yasin Mugabi who was taken off in their last game with injury. Defender Hassan Wasswa Dazo and forward Yasin Mugume are still out.

Karim Nduggwa who bagged a brace in the game against URA may be awarded his first start of the season in place of Geoffrey Sserunkuuma who is yet to find his feet since his move from Zambia.

Krizestom Ntambi is yet to acquire his International transfer Certificate from his former side and may miss this one as well.

Tooro will be without head coach Wasswa Bbosa who is still serving a touchline ban after receiving his matching orders during their game against Vipers.

This will be the first league meeting between the two sides, but Wakiso Giants edged their visitors 2-1 during the Super 8 classification match.
