In pursuit of strengthening their squad ahead of the 2019/2020 season, Vipers SC have completed the signing of right-back Paul Willa on a three-year deal from Police Football Club for an undisclosed fee.
The Kitende based club got interested in the 19-year-old after his remarkable performances with the Cops last season, he was arguably the best in his position.
“I am extremely happy to be here, I will give all for my best to the team,” Willa told the Club’s official website www.viperssc.co.ug, he added.
“My objective is always to win and am sure this is the perfect place and time to make this happen.”
The right-back becomes the second signing for the Venoms in this transfer window, after the landing of Allan Kayiwa from Tooro United FC, reports also indicate they have signed Onduparaka skipper Rashid Toha.
Willa has been one of the most consistent right-backs, not only for Police but in the league as a whole making him a subject of interest from various clubs.
He will however face stiff competition from Burundian international Karim Niyizigimana for the starting spot in Vipers’ starting lineup at the right flank.
Vipers are targeting Uganda Premier League success in the 2019/2020 season after a poor run of performances in the 2018/2019 season which saw them finishing second on the 16-team log behind eventual champions KCCA FC.
They were also knocked out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the quarterfinal stage by the then FUFA Big League side Proline FC.
