Three days after their impressive 2-0 away win against Vipers SC, URA FC have been held by Police FC in a barren draw at the Arena of Visions in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
The result showcased their continued inconsistency this season with this being their second draw. They have won thrice and lost once.
Meanwhile, the Cops have picked their second successive goalless draw, an improvement after losing their opening six this campaign.
The first half was a show lack of cohesion and edge, with more caution than attack from either side.
It took until at least after half an hour played when URA goalkeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo made a point blank save to deny Brian Muluuli ensuring that the game ends in a stalemate at halftime.
Before 45 minutes, URA had dominated the proceedings in terms of possession as they tried to force a way through for a goal, but all in vain.
URA’s best chance arrived in the 73rd minute when Saidi Kyeyune’s stinging freekick went only inches wide to cap off a disappointing evening.
Meanwhile, the Taxmen who occupy seventh with 11 points will visit SC Villa on December 7 in their next encounter.
The Cops have stayed rock bottom on two points and will hope to redeem themselves in their home fixture with Gaddafi FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on the same day.
