Salim Abdallah has joined URA FC on a two-year deal as a free agent, following the expiry of his contract at SC Villa.

The youngster is expected to add fluidity to the midfield that already has the experienced Shafiq Kagimu, Jackson Nunda and Saidi Kyeyune.

A host of players have left URA during the ongoing transfer window, including midfielders Moses Sseruyidde and Ivan Sserubiri, leaving a vacuum in the middle of the park.

The tax collectors have in return gone to the market and acquired the services of Abdallah who carries a lot of qualities along with him.

With Kagimu and Kyeyune already reliable, Abdallah will positively complete the trio and make the URA midfield stronger.

Kagimu and Kyeyune have complimented each other for a while now and Abdallah comes in with a fresh mentality of hunger, being in the initial stages of his career.

Hunger can be attributed to the fact that he is still young and the desire to achieve but his ability and potential speak volumes about him.

Abdallah’s strength is to make assists and also score goals and URA provides one of the best platforms for his execution, especially playing with Kagimu and Kyeyune.

Besides Abdallah, James Begisa and George Ssenkaaba who joined from UPDF FC and Express FC respectively are the other high-profile names the club signed.

Meanwhile, Steven Mukwala, Cromwell Rwothomio, and Ashraf Mandela are some of the other notable exits from URA.

Sam Timbe’s charges finished the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League season in third place with 55 points and will be hoping for a better 2022/23 term.

They will get their new campaign underway on October 1st when they host Modern Gaddafi FC at Nakisunga Saza Grounds in Mukono.
