Uganda Premier League side URA FC have confirmed the signing of versatile player Joshua Lubwama Letti from Wakiso Giants FC.
Lubwama has penned down a two-year employment with the Tax Collectors, as they seek to bring their season back on track.
“URA FC is delighted to announce that Joshua Letti Lubwama has signed a contract which will keep him at the club until January 2025,” URA announced on its website.
Lubwama can play both as a midfielder and a defender and should be a key figure in Sam Timbe’s team.
The star couldn’t hide his excitement when speaking to the club media upon his unveiling.
“I am happy to join URA FC, it’s a dream come true as this is one of the biggest clubs in the country,” he told the club media.
The midfielder was also quick to admit the poor run that his new club is going through but he’s confident together with his teammates, they will bounce back in the second round.
”I am aware of the club’s position and one of my targets with the help of my teammates is to help the team get back to where they belong.”
The Sand Cranes National team player previously had a stint at Luweero United, Ndejje University, BUL FC and Wakiso Giants.
Lubwama, who was part of the Sand Cranes team that took part in the AFCON Beach Soccer tournament in 2022, will face competition from Saidi Kyeyune, Shafik Kagimu, Hassan Kalega, Jackson Nunda among others in the URA Midfield.
He finds URA 11th on the log with 14 points in 14 matches, having registered two wins, eight draws and four defeats in the first round.
URA will travel away to Onduparaka on February 11 at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium, for their first match of the second round.
