Dundee United FC’s new signing Sadat Anaku is looking forward to scoring as many goals as possible.
Sadat Anaku, a graduate of the KCCA FC Junior Team is the all-time top scorer of the FUFA Juniors League with 83 goals in 52 games.
In 2019, Anaku was promoted to the KCCA FC senior team and scored six goals in 17 games in his first season on the senior team.
Anaku bagged nine goals in 20 games in the 2020/21 season and would later score seven goals in 23 games in the 2021/22 season.
After impressing in trials in the past weeks, Anaku was acquired on a two-year deal by the Scottish outfit from Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC.
“This is a very huge opportunity in my life and I am looking forward to embracing it,” Anaku noted in an interview with the club media.
“Everyone here has been so welcoming and I feel at home already only waiting to get started.”
“As a striker, I have my targets as an individual and I want to blend them with the ambitions of the club.”
“I want to score as many goals as I can for this club and I want to write my name among the top scorers hoping that will help the team achieve their targets as well.”
During the trials, the 21-year-old showcased his qualities against three English Premier League U21 sides Arsenal, Newcastle, and Leicester City, scoring against the latter.
The KCCA development side graduate went ahead and bagged a hat-trick in Dundee United B’s 6-2 thrashing of Queen’s Park.
His speed, ability to take on defenders one on one, and eye for goal have been fundamental in his development as a footballer.
Anaku will be hoping to get things started straight away with head coach Jack Ross’ team.
Dundee has had a poor start to the new 2022/23 Scottish Premiership season with a single point from four games and placed 11th on the 12-team log.
Ross will be hoping that Anaku can have an impact on rejuvenating the team’s performance.
