Five-time StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have unveiled a sixth Democratic Republic of Congo native, following the summer transfer bunch.
The Kitende side has landed attacking midfielder Serge Robert Mwenge to bolster their ranks ahead of the second round of the campaign.
Mwenge has signed a two-year employment contract at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende that will run till 2025.
He joins compatriots Alfred Mudekereza, Olivier Osomba, Gracia Mpongo Mbombo, Rodriguez Shamamba, and Darcy Mbaka Kipoyi.
The latest capture also makes it eight foreign players at the club, as they have Burundian custodian Fabien Mutombora and Nigerian Abubakar Lawal on their books.
Mwenge has previously featured for DRC and African powerhouses AS Vita, and Saint Loi Lupopo.
He has become the Venoms’ third signing in the January transfer window after initially landing Martin Kizza and Karim Ndugwa.
Mwenge is expected to battle for a starting berth in the team with several stars including Karim Watambala, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, Najib Yiga, Bright Anukani and Mpongo.
