Four-times StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed a two-year renewable sponsorship with paint manufacturing company Kansai Plascon.
This website had on Sunday revealed that the two entities were set to enter a sponsorship partnership with Plascon joining the long list of sponsors at the club despite details remaining scanty.
But on Monday morning, Plascon Uganda Managing Director Santosh Gumte flanked by Vipers SC President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa announced that the two had entered into a UGX 400 million partnership.
“To Kansai Plascon Uganda this is a continuation of the culture of investing in sports and we are very proud to partner a brand and club of Vipers’ stature,” Gumte announced during the launch.
“We really appreciate the ambition of the club, a virtue that is mutual to Plascon.
“Like Vipers, Plascon too is relatively a new name or brand on the Ugandan market in spite of having been in operation for years in this country as a paint manufacturer.”
“That notwithstanding, our ambition is to maintain our position as the number one paint and coatings provider in the country, region and continent.”
“Just like Vipers is aiming for the top spot in Ugandan, regional and continental club football,” Gumte added.
The partnership will see Placon’s logo appear at the back of the Vipers SC jersey with Hima Cement appearing at the front of the jersey while DFCU Bank will be the sleeve sponsors.
Plascon will also have access to stadium branding, match day activations, be involved in Vipers CSR engagements, fans activations among others activities of the club.
