Vipers are 180 minutes away from rewriting history of their own if they can go past Algerian champions Constantine in the first leg of the 2018/2019 Total CAF Champions League first round tie.

Vipers left on Wednesday afternoon for the Saturday tie against the two time Algerian champions who struggled to knock out GAMTEL of Gambia 1-0 on aggregate after a barren draw at home.

Vipers defeated Sudanese side El Merriekh on away goals rule after a two all aggregate in the preliminary round of the competition, having lost the first leg 2-1 and won the return leg 1-0.

“We are going to do our homework on the opponent and we get a winning strategy because we want to go further in the competition,” Espinoza said after knocking out El Merriekh.
