Last season’s finalists and two time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners Vipers Sports Club will hope to return to winning ways when they host Kiboga Young in the round of 32 on Saturday at St Marys stadium Kitende.
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions are winless in their last two outings.
They lost to Villa 3-1 at home and drew 1-1 with Tooro United in Buhinga, but for Vipers captain Tadeo Lwanga playing at home couldn’t be a better motivation.
“The boys have responded well in training and since we’ve gone two games without a win we hope to be motivated by the home support to win against Kiboga Young” Tadeo said in the prematch press conference.
Well, you know what they say. Better late than never.

Micheal Nam Ouma is cautious going into the tie, he knows anything can happen, being a knockout tournament.
“We may look like favorites for the tie but we have to do it on the pitch, be focused and bounce back to winning ways. It’s not going to be easy but we must pick ourselves up,” Ouma told the club’s official website
To reach this round, Kiboga Young eliminated St Marys 2-1 at Bamusuuta Playground while Vipers walloped Kansai Plascon 4-0 through Abraham Ndugwa’s brace, Halid Lwaliwa and a Desmond Kyobe own goal.
They are currently occupying second position on the Rwenzori group table with 25 points just one behind leaders Proline as automatic promotion race gains momentum.
