Vipers SC midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has indicated that they are putting in all the necessary hard work in pre-season as they eagerly await the new football season.
The Venoms have so far won all their two International friendly games, 2-0 and 1-0 against Young Africans SC and Rayon Sports FC respectively.
Byaruhanga’s effort from distance in the fourth minute was the difference between Vipers and Rayon Sports at Kigali Stadium in Rwanda on Monday.
“Good to be on the score sheet for our second pre-season friendly in Kigali,” Byaruhanga posted on his Twitter account before adding.
“It was a strong performance against a top contender in Rayon Sports who put a good challenge.”
“The whole team has worked hard for weeks to be ready for the 2022/23 football season,” he added.
Byaruhanga is one of the players whose future has seemed uncertain at Kitende during the ongoing transfer window.
He has a year left on his contract and he has attracted suitors in the likes of Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
At the end of the 2021/22 season, he stated it clearly that he had played his last game for the club but he has gone on to feature in all the two friendlies.
He is one of the most important and influential players at Kitende and the club is hesitant to let go of him ahead of their busy 2022/23 campaign.
Top of the agenda is to defend their Uganda Premier League crown and also reach the CAF Champions League group stages.
Roberto Oliveira’s charges were drawn against the Central African Republic side Olympic Real De Bangui for the first round.
The five-time UPL champions will be the guests in the first leg between 9th-11th September 2022.
The return leg will then take place between 16th-18th September, which is a week after the first, at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The victor on aggregate will then take on the Democratic Republic of Congo side, TP Mazembe in the second round.
