Champions Vipers SC will be hoping to keep their grip at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in formidable style when they travel to bottom side Kitara FC at the Masindi Municipal Stadium on Friday 16.
Straight off hammering Busoga United 4-0 in their previous fixture on Tuesday 13, the red-hot Venoms will aim at turning on similar heat to make a league double over the Masindi side.
It is worth mentioning that Fred Kajoba’s boys labored to pick a win off their hosts in in December leaving late with Paul Mucureezi and Dan Sserunkuuma canceling out Brian Mayanja’s goal.
Vipers hope to fly high regardless of Kajoba’s eleven given the depth in quality all over the place.
Even then, bang-in-form forwards Yunus Ssentamu and Ceasor Manzoki should lead the line again with support from the likes of AbdulKarim Watambala.
Attention will however be on whether Burundian goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora and Abdul-Aziz Kayondo will make the squad.
The two were involved in a physical burst up, Mutombora punching the young defender at full time in their home victory against Busoga United on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Kitara have picked up only a single win this season, drawing twice and have lost 14 times. A morale-boosting win will be much needed at home against the league giants.
They sit rock bottom of the league having garnered just 5 points. Relegation looms larger than ever for them and a loss will only but assert their participation in next season’s FUFA Big League.
