Both on eight points and separated by goal difference, second placed Wakiso Giants and Kyetume FC who occupy 3rd face off today with sight at the summit of the Elgon Group of the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
The game to be played at Nakisunga Ssaza Grounds will see Kyetume predominantly rely on Cephas Kambugu, they have experience in midfielder Patrick Ochan and winger Vincent Kayizzi.
“Every game counts and winning at home is one way to get closer to our target which is earning promotion,” said Alex Isabirye the Kyetume FC manager.
The visitors however have a mixture of both young and experienced players which gives flair and magnitude to their team.
Wakiso Giants coach Ibrahim Kirya describes his hosts as a very good experienced side and they have prepared well because they can match them.
“They are very good team with experienced players and a good coach,” said Kirya before adding.
“But we are ready to battle with them and I am confident we shall pick all points at the end of the day.”
Just like Kyetume, the Purple Sharks are targeting promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League next season, especially by the look of their recruitment.
The visitors are unbeaten in the four matches played so far drawing twice and winning twice scoring, four goals in the process and conceding none.
Elsewhere the rescheduled game between JMC Hippos and Nebbi Central will be played at Luo grounds. This will be JMC’s second game in three days after their 2-1 defeat by Doves All Stars on Friday.
Nebbi Central remains without a win in five games and are seated 8th with only four points on the 11 team Elgon group log.
