Wakiso Giants kicked off the second stanza of the 2018/2019 StarTimes FUFA Big League in style with a 3-0 heavy win against Amuka Bright Stars at Bugemba Stadium on Thursday evening to go four points clear at Elgon group table.
The Purple Sharks new boys Yasin Mugume and Norman Ojik scored the opener and third goals respectively on their debuts, Feni Ali grabbed the second goal of the home team.
The Ibrahim Kirya coached team’s first goal came in the 63rd minute with Mugume’s easy tap in at the far post to put the home team into the driving seat.
Feni Ali made it 2-0 after calmly finishing Abdul Karim Kasule’s low pass which made the silent Wakiso Giants supporters go wild.
Amuka Bright Star were awarded a penalty in the 78th minute, but it was saved by Ivan Mutumba. Two minutes later Amuka’s Fred Watango was dismissed for a foul on Mugume.

Ojik scored the Wakiso based club’s third goal late in the 90th minute to open his scoring account at Wakiso Giants in style.
The win saw off Wakiso Giants maintaining their supremacy at the top of the 2018/2019 StarTimes Big League Elgon group with 23 points from 11 outings.
They have managed to win six games, drawing five and yet to lose any, scoring 16 goals, conceding only five.
Elsewhere, Proline FC succumbed to its second defeat of the season, as they lost 1-0 to Kitara FC at their ground StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, Kitara’s goal was scored by George Senkaaba in as earlier as eight minutes.
Proline stay top of the Rwenzori Group on 23 points, Kitara are fifth on 18 points as they continue with their quest for top flight football next season.
