Coach Ibrahim Kirya has parted ways with Wakiso Giants days after guiding them to the top flight for the 2019/2020 season after expiry of his contract, the club officially announced.
Kirya had been fundamental for the Purple Sharks in the 2018/2019 campaign helping them to automatic qualification at their first time of asking.
“Ibrahim Kirya has left his role as Wakiso Giants FC Head Coach after his one year contract expired this week,” the statement from the club reads.
The club appreciated Kirya’s efforts towards their stylish promotion in Uganda’s top-flight league.
“We would like to thank Kirya for his hard work and commitment over the last 12 months. He has been a joy to work with and a complete gentleman.”
“The club is thrilled with the work done by Kirya and his technical staff for the period they have been in charge more so in guiding the club to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and also taking the club to the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, in a space of just one year,” the statement continues.
The club went ahead to officially announce the hunt for the new coach who will replace Kirya, they are currently linked with Mbarara City FC coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi and Police FC’s Abdallah Mubiru.
