The FUFA Big League Elgon and Rwenzori Groups leaders Wakiso Giants and Proline FC respectively registered convincing wins in their particular games on Thursday evening to keep their promotional dreams alive.
Wakiso defeated Jinja Municipal Council (JMC Hippos) 2-0 at the Kyabaziga Stadium in Bugembe to take their points tally to 26 from 12 outings.
Norman Ojik scored his second for Wakiso in second appearance but it was his first as a starter in the 11th minute, Karim Ndugwa who was making his debut doubled the lead in the 63rd minute.
Second placed Doves All Stars defeated UPDF 1-0 in Bugembe to take their points tally to 22 points, four behind Wakiso.

Ntinda United’s effort to survive relegation in the Rwenzori Group had them change the home ground from Betway Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku to the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
Hosting Proline was a Lugogo derby of some sort and the hosts lost 3-0 in a game they struggled to acclimatize on the artificial turf in Lugogo.
Proline scored through Ivan Kiberu early in the second half, it was his eighth goal of the season, before midfielder Ibrahim Wammanah came off the bench to double the lead.
Bright Anukani was another who was desperate to get onto the score sheet from the onset and when he did, his curling beauty from 20 yards left many gasping for breath.
The win takes Proline to 26 points, but second placed Kiboga Young is breathing down their necks, they defeated Bumate United 6-0 and are on 25 points.
