Women Cup holders UCU start title defense against Kawempe

Defending champions Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals host Kawempe Muslim in the round of 32 of the 3rd edition of FUFA Women Cup at their home ground in Mukono.

UCU custodian Ruth Aturo and midfielder Hassifa Nassuna will be facing a side that made them, for the first time, Aturo knows it won’t be easy.

“I know it is going to be a hard and aggressive game for both teams, it’s a knockout and anything can happen,” Aturo told www.football-256.com

“After the draws I was not surprised, why should I? We have played them in Independence Cup and won them on penalties and that means we have the guts. I have been waiting to play against them and this is the time”, added Aturo.

Inaugural winners Olila Girls host regional side Amuria High School at Olila grounds as the 2019 season kicks off from the round of 32, it’s the first time it’s happening since the first season in 2017.
