Yasin Mugume leaves Wakiso Giants

By Baron Kironde

Yasin Mugume has left Wakiso Giants, the club has confirmed. The player and the club could not specifically agree on terms of continuing to work together, so they agreed to part ways following the expiry of the winger’s contract.

Mugume arrived at Wakiso Giants in January 2019 from Rwanda’s Rayon Sport making his debut against Amuka Bright Stars and scored in the 3-0 win on the day.

Mugume had also previously played for KCCA FC (where his younger brother Ashraf Mugume currently bosses the midfield), Simba FC and Police FC before switching to Rayon Sports in Rwanda in 2018.

As a Purple Shark, Mugume has made 35 appearances in total in which he managed four goals and a commendable number of assists across all competitions.

Nicknamed Neymar, Mugume’s ultra-modern stylish style of play was most impressive about him amongst the Wakiso Giants fans.

As his former club wishes him all the best for the future, Mugume’s camp is still tight-lipped about the player’s exact next move, but Football256 shall surely keep you updated.
