After being unveiled as an Express FC player from Vipers SC on loan till the end of the 2018/2019 season, Frank “Zaga” Tumwesigye believes that his career will be revived.
The the former national U17 football wizard told this website that at Express, he will get playing time which hasn’t been the case at Vipers, helping him revamp his career.
“Surely I am in the right place, at a right time. They promised me first team football which will be good for my career,” he told www.football256.com before adding.
“I promise good football at Express, ready to deliver, meet the team’s expectations. My main target is winning a silverware for Express this season,” he added.
The trivial talented midfielder rose to the limelight earlier in 2014 when the Cubs (U17 national team) competed in the African qualifiers.
His twists and turns in the middle of the pitch, eagle-eyed passes, close ball control and jaw dropping elasticos left many football lovers enthralled.
He later joined St Mary’s Kitende and from there Vipers, winning the 2017/2018 Uganda Premier League title.
He however failed to break into the first team for regular playing time, he has been overshadowed by Moses Waiswa,Tom Masiko, Brian Nkuubi, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Duncan Sseninde and Abraham Ndugwa.
Zaga was at one time considered the next big thing in Ugandan football with a generation that produced Allan Okello, Pius Obuya, Julius Poloto among others.
All those have gone on to their next game to next level while his has stagnated because of one reason or another.
At Express Zaga will work closely with Kefa Kisala who will be required to make sure the once budding star can once again become the player everyone thought would become.
Zaga and Express commence the second round of the league against Tooro United on Tuesday in Buhinga, a ground the hosts are yet to taste defeat at.
